Spock - Star TrekStar Trek fan boys are counting down the days for the new redo. here is a picture of Zachary Quinto (Spock) that has just recently surfaced on the internet. The film is said to explain the back story of James Kirk and Spock before the two meet to wage battle against Nero a Romulan (Eric Bana). Nero is trying to destroy the United Federation of Planets.

From the trailers and teaser for this one it looks to be very exciting. I’m really thrilled that film makers are bringing Star Trek back with a fresh new cast and with a bold new look that fits just right for a new generation to be able to discover this great space saga.

Early buzz on Star Trek has been quite excellent as Todd McCarthy of Varity magazine commented, “Blasting onto the screen at warp speed and remaining there for two hours, the new and improved “Star Trek” will transport fans to sci-fi nirvana…. Paramount won’t need any economic stimulus package with all the money it’ll rake in with this one globally, and a follow-up won’t arrive soon enough.”

While I love the original cast of Star Trek lets face it its time for a new take on this timeless tale. I believe with this new cast Star Trek will reach a whole new generation that will experience warp speed through IMAX!

Paramount Pictures has finally decided to officially release the new, full length trailer for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen! The trailer first premiered on Yahoo, but is sure to be everywhere now. You can watch in awe below as Sam Witwicky (Shia Lebeouf) joins Mikaela Banes (Megan Fox) for round two of Autobots VS Decepticons.

The trailer looks pretty awesome and I’m anxious to see how Michael Bay’s effects (large scale robots fighting other large scale robots) will measure up against what McG is doing with Terminator Salvation (large scale machines fighting humans). Overall, I am pretty excited about both and hope that this story will be as good as, or better than the first. Judging from the trailers we’ve seen, it looks like I don’t have anything to worry about.

Check out the trailer below!!!

The Dark KnightChristian Bale caught internet bloggers by surprise when he was recently asked by Total Film about a possible follow-up to the mega hit The Dark Knight. Bale said ” Will we do a third movie? It’s got to be the right story. You can’t make something like ‘The Dark Knight’ and then come out with something disappointing. I would like it if people say, ‘You’ll never make a good third movie.’ I say, OK, Let’s make a third movie in that cause, let’s prove them wrong. But that’s just me. The fact is, I have to! I’ve signed up! Chris doesn’t. So I’m in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn’t want to!”

As of now it appears that Batman 3 is still up in the air but as far as I’m concerned this movie will no doubt happen. Charles Roven producer of The Dark Knight stated to Super Hero Hype, ” Right now even though I’m the producer of the Dark Knight I’m kind of like everybody. I’m waiting to see what Chris Nolan and David Goyer come up with and if they come up and decide if there is something worthy of making another iteration of Batman on film. The most important thing right now like we did with the last one is that we want to make sure there is a reason to make it. In other words feel like we can do something different than we had done before.”

Well, In my opinion Batman has the best rouge gallery of all superheroes period so I’m sure Mr. Nolan can find an excellent story to tell. The internet has been running wild with rumors that a script is now in the works and even casting has been started with rumors swirling from Johnny Depp as Riddler to Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin however all rumors have been confirmed as false. We can only hope that Nolan and crew can find it in them to tell another great story that goes far beyond that of just a superhero film like they were able to do for The Dark Knight!

Snake EyesIn case you’ve been living under a rock GI JOE: The Rise of Cobra will hit theaters August 7. The new film stars Dennis Quaid as General Hawk, Channing Tatum as Duke, and Marlon Wayans as Ripcord.

The film is set ten years from now and is said to be an origin story, depicting the rise of the Cobra Organization. Film makers hope that for those who know nothing about the GI JOE storyline this film will put everything into place for a future series. The film will center around Duke and Ripcord being brought into the GI JOE team.

The GI JOE brand started in the 1980s as an action figure line and was soon made into a comic book series but the JOEs found a cult following after the sucessful 80’s cartoon series. Look for GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra this August.

Night at the Museum 220th Century Fox has released the trailer for Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. The new trailer is very similar to the recently released teaser until the new scenes at the end of the trailer. The official website is now up and running as well!

The sequel to the highly successful Night at the Museum will open in conventional theaters as well as IMAX screens May 22. Ben Stiller is returning in his starring role and will be joined along side Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, and Robin Williams to name a few!

The original Night at the Museum grossed 30.8 million its opening weekend and took in over 40 million during its Christmas holiday run. Like its sequel the original was also released in IMAX where it saw success as well.

It can only be assumed that in the new sequel more historic figures will surface during adventure with rumors of Amelia Earhart being depicted in the film. The original film saw mixed reviews from critics but as stated was a holiday blockbuster time will only tell if Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian will have what it takes to be a summer blockbuster.

I haven’t seen the original film and honestly I don’t believe I’ll check this one out as well. I do believe Ben Stiller to be a good actor and sometimes funny… (Something About Mary) I just don’t think rehashing old concepts in order to make big bucks always means a good movie will come out of it. Only time will tell I guess and who knows maybe I’ll cave in a check this one out but don’t hold your breath!

Megan Fox - Transformers: Revenge of the FallenYahoo! Movies has released this new jaw dropping photo of Megan Fox for the new sequel to Transformers. The new trailer is expected to be released April 29th at 4:30 Pacific Time however our sources have confirmed an early leaked trailer is online to the delight of many fan boys.

Michael Bay director of Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen stated that the film’s executive producer, Steven Spielberg, thinks the footage he’s seen thus far is “awesome” and the new trailer will be attached to X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

On director Michael Bay’s official message board he stated, “Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today. There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said
“It’s awesome”. He felt this movie was better then the first – and probably my best, who knows – at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it. I’m going to start putting it in front of audiences in a few weeks – no you are not invited, yet.”

In other Transformer 2 news star Shia LaBeouf recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his two injuries he suffered during filming. When asked if he considered postponing his return to the set Lebeouf commented, “When I came back it was just out of the guilt that I had. I pride myself on my professionalism, and this is the first issue I’ve ever had where I wasn’t able to come to set, and it’s f—in heartbreaking when you gotta look at your crew. You know, what can you do? You just gotta grab your balls and move forward. There’s nothing else to do. The thing that cut deep to the core of me was knowing that there were 65 human beings [in the crew] who are like family to me, waiting for me to come back. They were sitting on their asses doing nothing because of my…you know, my situation. It’s the most intense s— I’ve ever dealt with, and am still dealing with. I mean, if people look at me like a drunk a–hole, that’s okay. But I know my family looks at me like a whole different person, and I know my crew respects me immensely. And at the end of the day, I can’t do much more.”

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen is set for release June 24 and is sure to be a summer blockbuster!

new moon 227x300Robert Pattinson recently reported to Entertainment Tonight that fans of the Twilight saga will get to see a darker side of Edward Cullen in the sequel New Moon. Pattinson stated, ” It’s kind of as close as possible to the book and there are some really bizarre moments, I mean, ’cause she’s having constant nightmares are all based on the person she loves, like, haunting her, so uh, there’s a lot of kind of weird dreams about death, decay…”

When asked about New Moon providing fans with a darker side of the relationship between Bella and Edward Kristen Steward commented, “it’s like you have something that is your idea of like perfection but you’re afraid of it while afraid of losing it, it’s like very masochistic. He gets the chance to be a little bit more scary in the dream sequences. He’s not so perfect.”

Pattinson, recently puzzled fans of the novel when he said, “One dream sequence which I don’t think anyone will expect Edward is this kind of demon so hopefully people will be freaked out by it.” For many fans that have read the entire Twilight series this is a bit of a mystery as to why this could possible be put into the film because Edward at no point in the novel was depicted as a demon within Bella’s dreams. Most of the dreams within the novel have Bella experiencing a feeling of loss and searching for something that is gone usually Edward. This whole Demonic Edward really seems strange to fans of the book however the first film did leave out parts of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight to the distain of many hard core fans.

The first film grossed $7 million in ticket sales from midnight showings on Novemember 21,2008. For Twilights opening weekend in the United States the film grossed an estimated 69 million from over 3,000 theaters. As of April 2009, the film has made over 190,000,000 in the United States and 188,447,533 in international markets for a total of over 300,000,000 world wide.

Regardless of the fan popularity critics have not been so receptive to the saga as the first film was given an overall “Rotten” rating of 49% on Rottentomatoes.com with Sean Burns of the Philadelphia Weekly stating, “No, it’s not as bad as you think. It’s actually worse.” Regardless of the films controversy and film critic’s varying opinions New Moon is sure to be as successful if not more than the original film as the Twilight Saga continues to gain new fans across the world. Look for New Moon in Novemember.
