A new rumor is circling the interwebs that pins Jackie Earle Haley (The Nightmare on Elm Street) as Hal Jordan’s mentor turned villain, Sinestro, in the upcoming Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds.

The same gossiper also stated that Superman may make a cameo in the film as well, which I wouldn’t mind too much. Marvel has certainly had success in superhero cameos and mashups so it is about time that DC join in on the fun.

The Superman cameo could spark enough interest in the character to revitalize the fans for another franchise reboot, since the last one was so terrible.

Anyway, Jackie Earle Haley has also recently landed the role in The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise reboot as the infamous Freddy Kruger, replacing Robert England.

If the rumors are true, at least we know Jackie Earle Haley can do it all.
