The world really recognized Gemma Arterton (opposite Daniel Craig) in the James Bond film, The Quantum of Solace. This is especially true of the popular scene in which she is covered in oil.
However, now that she has made a name for herself in what I consider to be her breakout role, she has moved on to bigger and better things, such as Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and this new film, Tamara Drewe.
Today, we have a first look at Arterton as Tamara Drewe in a film that is an adaptation of a graphic novel of the same name. In the film, Tamara returns to her hometown and begins to engage in a string of relationships with the townsfolk. She eventually becomes involved with three different men–Andy (Luke Evans), the dashing groundskeeper; Ben (Dominic Cooper), a handsome rock band drummer; and Nicholas (Roger Allam), the philandering literary retreat organizer.

The graphic novel is originally done by Posy Simmonds and Arterton has stated that she knows a lot of people enjoy Tamara, “Lost in her expectations of being a modern woman in today’s world – the expectations of beauty and success – when what really desires is to be loved.”
The film is to be directed by Stephen Frears and is expected for release some time next year.
