According to Screenrant.com, WB will start the planning stages for the follow-up to the highly successful The Dark Knight film. One question remains however, will Christopher Nolan return to the director’s chair in the third installment of the new Batman series? A secrete source from Batman-On-Film.com states that WB will go ahead with the project with or without Nolan’s lead.

News regarding Batman 3 is expected to be announced from WB early next year.

I am sure most of the Batman fans out there hope Nolan does decide to come back to finish the series off, but at the same time I would not mind if he decided to step aside from directing duties. One thing is certain, with The Dark Knight being as successful as it has become, Batman 3 is going to happen whether Christopher Nolan, or the entire cast from The Dark Knight (the surviving one’s on and off screen, that is) decide to be a part of the project or not.

We will keep you well informed as we receive any more updates on the direction of the Batman series.
