Today on The Ellen Show, Ellen debuted a new clip from Twilight: New Moon featuring Jane (Dakota Fanning) being a nasty vampire in the Volturi clan. After the clip, Ellen goes on to interviewing (and scaring) Dakota Fanning and reveals that she has already seen the film.

Of course, Ellen and Dakota both sort of discuss how this isn’t the typical Dakota Fanning role being that she is a villain and all.

Anyway, have a look at the video which shows the clip and the interview below.

Twilight: New Moon hits theaters this Friday and also stars Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson.

Not that he has any say-so in the matter, but Twilight star Robert Pattinson recently sat down with MTV news and let it be known that the fourth installment in The Twilight Saga, called Breaking Dawn, would be returning to Portland and he would like Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting) to be in the director’s chair.

Have a look at the video via MTV below.

The first film was shot in Portland, the hometown of Gus Van Sant. However, the two sequels were shot in Vancouver, Canada. Apparently, Pattinson would like for a Portland native to shoot the film in the place that started it all.

Twilight: New Moon hits theaters on November 20, 2009 and also stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

Lizard 150x150Spidey fans are in an uproar of antcipation for the next installment of the highly sucessful Marvel Comics and Fox venture. Earlier this week actor Dylan Balker confirmed that he will reprise his role as university professor Dr. Curt Connors. Ever since the introduction of Dr. Connors in Spider-Man 2, fans have been begging for an on screen adaptation of The Lizard. During a question and answer session for his new film Trick ‘r Treat, Balker did not go into details about how large his role would be or if he would appear in the film as The Lizard.

As of now little is known about the plot of Spider-Man 4, but earlier this month director Sam Rami stated to MTV News:

“What we’re trying to do right now is really understand the journey Peter is going to go on this time and have the villain maybe be a counter to that growth, something that he has to overcome,”

Raimi went on to say:

“Or maybe he has to grow in a way to overcome the villain, because there always seem to be stories of coming of age, of a young man growing up and learning things about life, so once we are identifying the exact movement that Peter has to grow to, I think the villain—and we’re trying this right now; we’re trying to choose a villain based on who would be the proper counter to that growth, so we really have dramatic conflict.”

Spider-Man 4, starring Tobey Maguire, is set to websling into theaters May 2011. Until then, MuveePRO will continue to update fans on it’s status.

At last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the teen vampire chronicle Twilight brought throngs of screaming (mostly female) fans to get their first glimpse of the film and its stars, including heartthrob Robert Pattinson, who drew the lion’s share of attention from the high-pitched masses. This year, with New Moon, the second chapter of the Twilight Saga set to rock the Con, eager fans began camping out the day before to get a chance to see the Twilight presentation in legendary Hall H. While the vampire faithful collected on the grounds, stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson held a press conference in a nearby hotel.

Please note, if you want to be kept completely in the dark about New Moon, and have not read the corresponding book, there are mild spoilers ahead.

“Last year, Comic-Con was the big eye-opener for us,” said Lautner. The Con helped stoke the frenzy of Twilight fandom, which started with the best-selling book series. “This is our opportunity to come out and thank our fans for everything they’ve done.”

Since last year’s Con, the movie has released and become a sensation. “It seems to keep building and building, the magnitude of this franchise… It’s an interesting thing to deal with,” said Pattinson. “I think that everything is crazy about this franchise and that’s why we love it so much,” said Lautner.

Life has changed significantly for its now high-profile stars. Tabloids have splashed cast relationships all over their covers and the media has descended on each scrap of new movie information. It has made for an interesting journey for the young stars. “Within myself I don’t think I’ve changed,” said Pattinson, speaking of the newfound attention. “[But] when I walk down the street, I Iook down a lot more often.”

New Moon

In addition to adjusting to the constant attention, the three had to prepare for new challenges for their New Moon roles. “As soon as I finished Twilight, I started hitting the gym,” said Lautner, on his physical transformation. “I am trying to represent Team Jacob in the right way. I don’t want to disappoint [the fans].”

Kristen Stewart, meanwhile, dug into the emotional meat of the film. “This is a severely emotional movie. This movie is not about discovery, about falling in love… this is low. She’s a manic depressive, basically. It’s a more mature part “, said Stewart on Bella’s arc.

While New Moon features Robert Pattinson, he is not as prominent in the main storyline. Since his character has left Bella, his appearances in the film as they relate to her are handled via remembrances. “They’ve done these hallucinations, these semi-visible apparitions,” said Pattinson. “It’s how she remembers him, not how he actually is,” said Stewart. These sequences help tie Edward to the story even though he is not physically as present.

Each of the cast members were asked which book in the series was their favorite. Lautner picked Eclipse, due to the intensity and action. But Pattinson and Stewart both chose New Moon, the subject matter for this film. “I liked New Moon in terms of how much I can push myself in the series,” said Stewart. Pattinson agrees, citing the fact that “Edward is such a hyped character… and he is so humbled [in New Moon]… He is too much in love with something and deliberately starts breaking [the relationship], which I think is relatable.”

Puss in BootsActor Antonio Banderas recently spoke with ComingSoon.Net and confirmed that DreamWorks will go ahead with a Puss in Boots spin-off film.

Banderas also stated that he has read over the script for the planned movie and will soon begin work on the project when Shrek Forever After is completed. Banderas commented,

I am very happy with what I am doing. In a way, it’s easy work because I know the parameters of the character. I know how to move him around. At the same time, a couple days ago, I went to DreamWorks, and they pitched me what is going to be in Puss in Boots’,own movie and it looks unbelievable. It looks really, really cool.

They’ve been working very, very heavy on the script for almost three years, and they didn’t just want to give me any kind of thing until the other day when Jeffrey finally called me and said it was done. I went there and was very surprised with how the movie is going to take off. I love it.

The actor confirmed that the film will be an origin story. Banderas added,

Yes, We’re going to go from the time he was a very little cat, so you see actually how he becomes an adult killer, and the reasons why he ends up on that path. It’s interesting because it goes away from that kind of use of popular culture that Shrek has. It goes in a different way, and the movie sometimes gets almost emotional, I may say, it’s kind of epic.

I found when they pitched to the movie to me, and now reading the script, a total real connection with the character. Obviously he’s a cartoon, but a real personal connection with him in terms of what he’s expressing. It’s very emotional at some points, It’s very special.

It’s going to surprise people I think; they’re not going to expect what we’re going to do.

Normally, I would think Mr. Banderas to be crazy, after all it’s just a cartoon movie, right? Well, after I finally gave in and saw Up last weekend, I have a new found respect for this kind of film.

MuveePRO will keep updated on the status of Shrek Forever After and Puss in Boots.

megan fox screenCould Megan Fox portray a new, younger Lara Croft in a Tomb Raider reboot? Maybe.

Back in January, it was reported that a new Tomb Raider series reboot was underway and in the early stages of development. About.com recently spoke with producer Dan Lin at the Terminator Salvation premiere, who uncovered a few details about the film.

Apparently, Lin says that the film will feature a “very character oriented,” more realistic origin story (which kind of reminds me of X-Men Origins: Wolverine for some reason).

Lin also emphasized that the story would focus on a younger Lara Croft, which places Megan Fox as a logical choice, especially since she favors Angelina Jolie, who played Lara Croft in the previous Tomb Raider franchise.

I think she could do it, but only time will tell if Megan Fox will take over the Lara Croft role.

In any case, check out the embedded interview below in which Dan Lin also discusses two other projects of his, Terminator Salvation and Sherlock Holmes, both starring actors from last year’s big summer superhero movies, The Dark Knight and Iron Man, respectively.
