Screen Rant has posted up a new photo from James Cameron’s Avatar film that shows stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana rehearsing a scene for the film pre-CGI.

It’s kind of interesting to see and I think Sam looks pretty funny with that wig on. Anyway, have a look at the full photo below.

Two new clips from James Cameron’s highly anticipated film Avatar made their way online last night.

With several featurettes, clips, and promo photos being released in the last month or so, this film is finally getting the sort of promotion it deserves.

The first clip is from Cineplex in which Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) introduces Jake (Sam Worthington) to her Banshee. Watch the clip below.

The next clip exclusively from MSN features SecFor administrator Parker Selfridge (Giovanni Ribisi) and Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) discuss the prospect of using Jake Sully for the Avatar program, and Selfridge reminds Augustine of the true mission on Pandora–to win over the indigenous creatures. Enjoy the clip below.

Avatar will release in theaters on December 18, 2009 and also stars Michelle Rodriguez.

In this new featurette brought to us by Coca-Cola for James Cameron’s Avatar, actor Stephan Lang (Colonol Quaritch) takes you into the world of Pandora through the eyes of his character.

Lang narrates the clip which shows off great CGI work and introduces new footage, describing his character’s mission and the themes and dynamics of the storyline.

Enjoy the new featurette below.

A new featurette for James Cameron’s Avatar has popped up over at Rotten Tomatoes, which gives us a sci-fi look at the technology used in the field from high-tech weaponry to land-air vehicles.

Michelle Rodriguez says one thing about Cameron that I thought was interesting, and that was that the technology used in the film actually had to be logical. That is that in the future, we could possibly see vehicles and weaponry like that used in the film–interesting!

Anyway, have a look at the featurette below.

Avatar releases to theaters on December 18 and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver.

If you can’t quite get your fix of James Cameron’s Avatar then the guys over at BlackBook may have just what you need. That is, if what you need is a comprehensive guide to the creatures of Pandora!

The guide is much like those that appeared after the Star Wars films which contain everything you would ever want to know about the Star Wars universe, up to and including the fuel that the Millennium Falcon uses.

Marketed as a “confidential report on the biological and social history of Pandora,” An Activist Survival Guide actually lists the new species of plants and animals Cameron came up with for his epic new film and includes a glossary of Na’Vi terminology.

Some people think he’s nuts… and he may be, but at least this movie should be awesome!

George Lucas even commended Cameron’s effort and dedication to the universe he has created, telling the New York Times:

“Creating a universe is daunting. I’m glad Jim is doing it — there are only a few people in the world who are nuts enough to. I did it with Star Wars, and now he’s trying to challenge that. It’s a lot of work. I do believe Jim will take this further out than anyone’s ever conceived of.”

Enough talk about the guide, have a look at some of scans below.

Supposedly you can order AVATAR: An Activist Survival Guide on Amazon, but I’ve been unable to locate it.

Avatar hits theaters on December 18, 2009 and stars Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and Michelle Rodriguez.
